I am an Individual,
Couple, Family & Sex Therapist who provides confidential and professional
therapy in a comfortable private practice setting. Prior to living and working
in the beautiful town of Dundas, Ontario I worked as an Individual, Couple
& Family Therapist in two agency settings in York Region and in private
practice in Mississauga. In addition to therapy, I have also worked as a
facilitator of parent, family, and teen groups, focusing on strengthening
parent-child relationships and equipping parents with effective parenting tools
and resources.
My education includes receiving an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in
Psychology from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Science degree in
Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Guelph. I have continued my
professional training since completing my Masters degree. I have received
supervision for providing therapy specific to individuals and families
struggling with substance abuse and addiction. I have also completed various
area specific workshops as well as courses in sex therapy. I am currently an
Associate Member of BESTCO (Board of Examiners in Sex Therapy and Counselling
in Ontario).
As a Registered Clinical Member (#88211) of the American Association for
Marriage and Family Therapy (A.A.M.F.T.) and the Ontario Association for
Marriage and Family Therapy (O.A.M.F.T.), I adhere to strict ethical guidelines
put in place to provide clients with a safe, comfortable therapeutic setting.
It is my belief that each person’s experience of life is unique. By entering
into therapy with this perspective, I believe I am able to work sensitively and
effectively with clients who have had various cultural and social experiences
and who may hold diverse values and beliefs. It is always a privilege for me to
be a part of my clients’ processes as they move towards discovering
alternative stories, change, and healing.
